Viewing
The viewing room is open several days leading up to
the sale (except Sundays). Viewing times can be found
on our catalogue
page. As a security measure, please don’t
be offended if we ask you to leave your bags and coats
in safe keeping while you view the lots. Lots are usually
arranged in sequence, but large, fragile and especially
valuable items may be located elsewhere. Our assistants
will be glad to point you in the right direction.
If you are unable to view the sale, we are only too
happy to provide more detailed condition reports on
any lots you are interested in. Please email
or telephone us with your questions.

Commission
Rates
Our buyers’ commission is 9.5% which is added
to the hammer price. Lots marked with a dagger (†)
in the catalogue also attract VAT at the standard rate
on the buyers’ commission (i.e. you will pay the
hammer price plus 11.1625%).
We are committed to offering an excellent service where
most of the purchase price passes from buyer to seller.

Bidding
in person
Those wishing to bid at our auctions are required to
register before the sale. For convenience, you may register
at the time of viewing, or on the day of the sale. Identification
may be asked for. Please note that once you have registered,
you should not need to do so again, but do inform us
of any changes to your contact details.

Absentee
Bidding
Should you be unable to attend the auction in person,
you may still leave bids by filling in commission
form which can be filled in as you browse the online
catalogue. Simply let us know your highest bid (excluding
buyers’ commission) and we will bid on your behalf
and attempt to buy the lot at the cheapest possible
price.
Telephone bidding can also be arranged on lots with
a minimum estimate of £400 . Please contact us
if you would like to arrange this.

Purchases
One main reason for our offering such incredibly low
commission rates is our economy of space. Accordingly,
we request that lots are paid for and collected promptly.
Storage charges will be made on any lots not paid for
and collected within 5 days of the date of the sale.

Shipping
We have our own packing and shipping service, for which
the charges are modest. Please contact us for further
details. Of course you may also arrange your own shipping
and we are happy to assist when this is the case.
